The work rests on the thesis that a city where people can rest is a city of security, warmth and empathy. Under the fountain’s lanterns, the temporary installation was built. The rest lay with their eyes directed upwards towards the shimmering surface of the water, seen from below.
The sessions want to provoke a renewed expectation of what a city can be, and how our human needs for recreation take place in public spaces. Sergel’s Square is an interesting place that is as far from the intimate bedroom as we can get. The place is visited by a wide mix of people, is located in the middle of the city and has a special urban atmosphere. Sergel’s square is a hub in the production community. To make a place for rest right where the sun’s rays break down through the water of the fountain, and you need to stop to be able to experience and take in that magic.
